We’re leaving for Congo-Brazzaville tomorrow, yay! It’s been six months, pretty much to the day, since we left. But it feels like we’ve been away for ages. Time passes slowly when you miss someone.

I know it’s been too long when I can’t remember what I have in my kitchen cupboards anymore! Luckily I can check with my husband… he can tell me whether we have everything we need for making gingerbread cookies for Christmas. Essential information when you’re going to spend the holiday season in the tropics… I know, hmmm.

Talking of Christmas, wisened up by last year’s struggle to get hold of a Christmas tree, I’ve tasked my husband with getting us a tree before our arrival. Hope he’s done it, they go fast over there. Last year I was basically too late and ended up getting Brazzaville’s last tree… out of Casino’s refrigerated meat room! But, enough of that, tree or no tree, it’s time to finish packing my suitcase. Because we’re leaving toomorrowww!!
